La Orotava outbreak stabilized overnight | Radio Club Tenerife

The extinguishing services managed to stabilize at around 11:40 p.m. the outbreak of forest fire that started during the afternoon of this Saturday near the fairgrounds, in the Pinolere area of ​​the municipality of La Orotava (Tenerife).

This has been reported by the Cabildo, which adds that the flames affected some 7.2 hectares of land and that during the night the ground media have been working cooling the perimeter.

The attempt at first forced to evict the residents of the fifteen houses due to the proximity of the fire, although they were able to return a short time later.

After the fire broke out in the afternoon of this Saturday, Brifor, Tenerife Firefighters and Environment personnel, as well as members of the Civil Guard, Local Police and Civil Protection came to the place to collaborate in the device deployed to smother the flames.

In addition, 112 Canary Islands media from other islands have been requested from the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) and the Red Cross was activated preventively. All this to put out a fire that is already stabilized.
