Monkeypox has presented an important development, with an outbreak of infections that have reached some 6,000 in a total of 58 countries, for which the World Health Organization (WHO) will reconvene the emergency committee before the advance of the illness.

He highlighted the importance of having a vaccine. “On this occasion, we see a higher number than has been seen before and the number does not seem to decrease, so far, that is why we are on alert. It is too early to give projections, but unlike what we are experiencing with covid-19, we already have a vaccine, which is something that will greatly alter the development of the disease or contagion. It is a vaccine that is known to work, that it is already known how it should be manufactured, ”said the professional.

“Although the number has already been determined and has already encouraged this emergency meeting, there are definitely many more people who are getting infected and who are going to be infected. This is only the tip of the iceberg for now,” González said.
