La Nación / Riera qualifies the deputies of the ruling party as disloyal to the Colorado Party

Senator Enrique Riera said that the deputies of the ruling National Republican Association (ANR) gave themselves over to the opposition by appointing a representative of the Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA) as president of the Lower House. On the other hand, he urged the second of the Executive and candidate for the Presidency in 2023, Hugo Velázquez, to dedicate himself to fulfilling his functions and not to use the State for his political campaign.

“There is a great contradiction in Colorado Añetete’s speech, they believe that they are supposedly the best Colorados, the most loyal, but nevertheless they have no problem surrendering and allying with the opposition,” he said in communication with radio 650 A.M.

Riera’s statements arose in the face of the parliamentary robbery denounced by the deputies of the Colorado dissidence after the internal regulations of the institution and the way in which it works internally were distorted, thus ending with the appointment of Carlos María López as President of the Deputies, to the following period from next July 1.

On the other hand, Riera urged Velázquez to fulfill his constitutional role, currently alleging that the vice president is using state resources to support his political campaign with a view to the 2023 general elections.

“The National Constitution is clear, it says that both the President of the Republic and the Vice President will dedicate themselves exclusively to their functions. Hugo Velázquez cannot campaign using the vehicles, fuel, among other resources, that we all pay for”, he sentenced.

This is also taking into account the statements made by the deputy and candidate for the position of Vice President of the Republic for the Honor Colorado movement, Pedro Alliana, who yesterday accused Velázquez of generating instability in the Lower House.
