Representatives of the National Institute of Statistics (INE) carried out the cartographic update in the city of Luque for the location of the dwellings to be census through PDA devices in combination with satellite images.
This same sample is also being carried out in two companies in Nueva Italia (rural area), which mobilize a total of 19 people.
This work is prior to the pilot test that will take place next Saturday, June 5, as an activity that precedes the National Population and Housing Census scheduled for August 2022, so the tests are essential so that the INE technicians experience and exercise the dynamics that will be carried out for “D-Day” next year.
“This work by the cartography team is essential to test methodological aspects with the cartographic update and validate the effectiveness of the tool, which has to do with each of the procedures related to planning, which will be fundamental to lay the foundations for this great operation that is going to move 210,000 volunteers, including census takers and supervisors, to gather information, ”said Iván Ojeda, director of the INE.

He noted that they are using PDA devices in combination with satellite images. “The technology of fingerprints in buildings, which today allows us to have a more efficient work, with higher quality and above all with the opportunity of data,” said Ojeda.
He pointed out that this allows having the information in the right time, for which he thanked the great predisposition of the people of Luque. “The information they provide us is for statistical purposes and in no case will the informant be identified,” he observed.
The INE will carry out next Saturday, June 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the pilot test in the districts of Luque (urban) and Nueva Italia (rural).
A total of 38 supervisors and 188 census takers will visit the homes of Luque neighborhoods such as Zárate Isla, Loma Merlo, Tercer Barrio, Isla Bogado, Cañada Garay, Yukyry, Tarumandy, Tarumandy 2 and Itapuami 2.
The INE team that will reach the Tacuara and Yukyty companies in Nueva Italia will carry out the data surveys in the two rural locations.
