Today, starting at 10:00, at the CCPA facilities, the grand final of the 1st. National Chamber Music Competition called Lorenzo N. Livieres Banks. The winners will be announced tonight after the concert scheduled for 20:00, by soprano Cristina Vera Díaz, with the presence of Stefano Pavetti Serrano on piano and the CCPA Youth Chamber Orchestra.

The competition is an initiative of Fundación ProMusica Paraguay together with the Centro Cultural Paraguayo Americano and is sponsored by the Livieres Guggiari family. The event was created to pay tribute to the artistic figure of the scribe Lorenzo N. Livieres Banks (1927-2018), critical thinker, university professor, pianist and student of music.
He has been dedicated to classical music for a long time, which is why he was one of the most prominent promoters of this musical genre in our country. In addition to this, this event aims to promote and disseminate chamber music in Paraguay.
The contest had the participation of 23 chamber ensembles from different cities such as Asunción, Itá, Cabañas-Caacupé, Pirayú, Encarnación, San Juan, Guarambaré, Hohenau, Pedro Juan Caballero and San Antonio; in a total of 55 musicians of all ages, Paraguayans and foreigners residing in our country.
The classifications were made in two eliminatory phases of which the finalists were Amaurea Piano Trio, Cuarteto Ópalo, Duo Zelada – Cabrera, Duo Ad-Libitum, Duetto: voice and piano, Gran Duo Deluxe Música, Duo Misionero, Temiandu Trío, Trío Sforzando, Hyapu Quartet and Angirü Duo.
The examining table was made up of five renowned musicians who represent the three organizing entities: the teacher Cristina Vera Díaz; president and teacher Blanca Gatti; teacher Miguel Ángel Echeverría; teacher Javier Aquino Maidana and teacher Gabriel Graziani.
The closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday 12, at 8:00 p.m., at the Theater of the Americas (José Berges 297, Asunción). On the occasion the awards ceremony will be held and to close with a flourish the winners will give a concert. Access is free and free, and places are limited.
