Located in the Fontaine-d’Ouche district of Dijon, La Maison-phare won the La Cantine hors les Murs prize for the multiple actions it carries out: a complete meal for €6, weekly meetings to raise awareness market gardening or even meals for the beneficiaries of Restos du Cœur.

La Maison-phare, located in the Fontaine-d’Ouche district of Dijon, won the La Cantine Hors les Murs prize from the Victoires des cantines rebels 2023, organized by the national association An organic plus , which wants to highlight “the most beautiful food initiatives that are developing in the territories”. This popular education association won this prize for the multiple actions it carries out in the Fontaine-d’Ouche district. The flagship house is, for example, at the origin of a community café and its restaurant , where you can come and eat a complete meal for €6. “We also organize four weekly meetings to raise awareness about market gardening. Thus, the collective production of vegetables in the association’s gardens serves as food for the associative restaurant and also for street workshops,” explains Hélène Planckaert, facilitator and responsible for the animation of social life at La Maison-phare.

Another action, every week, “volunteers take over the street and encourage sharing between the residents of the neighborhood through cooking, games and multiple activities that create social bonds,” informs Stéphane Haquin, facilitator. Every last Friday of the month, volunteers organize a free meal for beneficiaries of Restos du Cœur who can take the opportunity to socialize at the association’s stand, while collecting their food.
