This restaurant, which was the former residence of Giuseppe Verdi and has always maintained a connection with the history and culture of the city, has become a place to enjoy a unique evening after a night of opera thanks to its opening hours, as it opens until midnight. It has not been revealed what Their Majesties had for dinner, nor what space they chose, as there are different options: one more formal, The Lonja restaurant, and two more informal ones, The Lonja Tavern and the Lonja Bar. The chef is in charge of the kitchen Fernando Negri, -with David González as head chef and Carlos Gutiérrez as restaurant manager- who grew up surrounded by a passion for gastronomy with his grandmothers, and has managed to convey the values of La Lonja del Mar through honest, quality cuisine. “La Lonja del Mar is the place where I have been able to reach my maturity as a chef. Celebrating these ten years means a lot to me, right now I am like that perfect egg flan, with its caramel and its trembling”, he said. Surely Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, who chose his kitchen, knew how to value the work of the chef and his dishes, as well as an exquisite service and fabulous facilities.
