Real Madrid – Villarreal 2: 1
Giant cheers in Madrid! For the first time since the 2016/17 season, the royal team can once again call themselves Spanish champions. Thanks to a 2-1 win against Villarreal, the 34th championship title is perfect. Man of the game is goal guard Karim Benzema, who is responsible for both goals. After a ball win, Luka Modric switches at lightning speed and launches his teammate – the Frenchman catches goalie Asenjo between his legs. The second hit, however, provides something to talk about. Captain Ramos chooses a cheeky variant for the penalty and just taps the ball. Because Benzema sprints into the penalty area a little too early, the penalty is repeated. This time Benzema competes “normally” and lets its colors cheer. Villarreal comes back shortly before the end, but that does not change the victory of the royal. Real’s winning streak continues with the three: Since the restart of the league, the Madrilenians have been getting the maximum points in ten games.
The goals: 29. Benzema 1: 0, 77. Benzema (Penalty) 2: 0, 84. Iborra 2: 1.–
Barcelona – Osasuna 1: 2
Barcelona can no longer prevent Madrid’s championship title on its own. You should have hoped for a mistake by the Royal. But it seems that Barça has already written off the Spanish championship. The Catalans are tired and fall behind early. Leo Messi equalizes the game in round two – but shortly before the end, the guests take the lead again. That, even though they have been outnumbered since the 77th minute!
The goals: 15. Arnaiz 0: 1, 62. Messi 1: 1, 94. Torres 1: 2.–
Getafe – Atletico 0: 2
Duty fulfilled! Atletico wins the away game at Getafe 2-0. There is no spectacle. The Madrilenians take the lead after 54 minutes and close the sack shortly before the end.
