This was the 550th La Liga match for Athletic Bilbao’s Raúl García. This is the same as the match number for Raúl (Real Madrid) and only Andoni Zubizarreta (622) and Joaquín (596) are ahead of them in the lead.
Beautiful Mario scored the first goal, but the Atlético player found his own goal in the 8th minute after poorly blocking a pass. This was the fourth, including the current one angolja in the last five league competitions. That doesn’t sound like much to anyone, but no one in the Spanish forefront…
In the 56th minute, Bilbao took another step towards victory when Inaki Williams sold the sentence imposed.
The result has not changed in the sequel. With this victory, Bilbao kept his hope for an international cup appearance alive. Atlético is unlikely to lag behind, but Diego Simeone has yet to get excited about starting the BL.
