Athletic’s response did not take long, Nico Williams’ pass was intercepted by a defender, so the Granada goalkeeper scooped the ball in front of the five from an unfavorable position. Gorka Guruzeta cannonballed into the upper left corner.
Bilbao attacked throughout the rest of the match, but despite having 17 shots on goal, Augusto Batalla had a great day in goal. Ernesto Valverde’s guard lost important points in the fight for the BL, while Granada still only has a mathematical chance of staying in.
