Carvajal has a serious injury

In added time of the second half, Dani Carvajal was injured after accidentally kicking an opponent. The right defender writhed in pain and left the pitch on a stretcher.
“A serious injury to the cruciate ligament has been confirmed, I will have to undergo surgery and will not be able to play for several months,” the Spanish footballer announced on Instagram, publishing a photo of himself in the ambulance.
A beautiful gesture by Real
Real wrote in a statement that Carvajal, who will soon undergo surgery, “has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, a rupture of the external collateral ligament and a rupture of the hamstring tendon in his right leg.” Later, the capital club added that, in support of the player’s recovery, he extended his contract by one year, until the end of the 2025/26 season.
At the same time, it was reported that Vinicius Jr. suffered a neck injury in the same match. The severity of the injury has not been determined.
Real is second in the La Liga table with 21 points. The leader Barcelona, which played one match less, has the same amount.
