Barcelona dominated on Villarreal’s pitch, winning 5:1 and keeping a 100% league record at home in La Liga even after the 6th round. Bilbao footballers beat Celta Vigo 3:1 at home and after their third win in a row moved to third place in the table. Atlético Madrid drew away with Vallecano 1:1. Getafe recorded the same draw with Leganes and continues to struggle in 18th place in the table.
Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha contributed two goals to Barcelona’s win, who now occupy the first two rungs of the scoring table with six and five hits respectively.
Lewandowski scored goals in the 20th and 35th minutes to give Barcelona a 2-0 lead. The Polish forward scored 48 goals in 75 league games for Barcelona, equaling the Polish record of Jan Urban in La Liga, who achieved this goal in 177 games.
Three minutes after his second goal, Pérez reduced the score to 1:2. Barcelona lost the injured goalkeeper Ter Stegen in the second half, who had to be replaced by Peňa just before the break.
Torre restored the Catalans’ two-goal lead in the 58th minute. The 21-year-old midfielder scored for the first time both in the Barcelona jersey and in the Spanish top flight. In the 66th minute, Lewandowski could have completed the hat-trick with a penalty kick, but he failed in his execution. Raphinha confirmed Barcelona’s big win with two more goals in the last quarter of an hour.
Bilbao beat Celta Vigo 3-1 at home and moved to third place in the table after their third win in a row. Gorka Guruzeta contributed two goals to gain three points.
It was the 28-year-old striker who opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Although the visitors equalized in the 25th minute thanks to Aspas’ converted penalty, Bilbao regained the lead before halftime with Guruzeta’s second goal. The final result was sealed by Djaló, who replaced the head in the second half.
Atlético Madrid drew away with Vallecano 1:1. Home midfielder Palazón opened the scoring in the 35th minute, scoring his first goal of the season. For Atlético, who will be Sparta Prague’s fifth opponent in the Champions League, Gallagher equalized in the 49th minute. The “Rojiblancos” have not yet lost in the league and are fourth in the table with a one-point loss to third-placed Bilbao, who have one more game in hand. Vallecano is ninth.
