Rain of money for the Spanish La Liga!
The Spanish league association has been negotiating with the financial company CVC for a year, now the deal is apparently dry. According to Spanish media reports, the service provider from Luxembourg is investing 2.7 billion euros in the competition!
The coal is intended to cushion the consequences of the corona pandemic, which hit the clubs hard. The money is to be divided among the clubs. The exact distribution key is to be determined at a meeting of the clubs, but according to the Spanish media, Barça can probably plan with around 270 million euros, Real Madrid with 261 million euros.
For the heavily indebted FC Barcelona, money is vital. With Memphis Depay (Lyon), Sergio Agüero and Eric Garcia (both ManCity), the clammy Catalans have signed three free transfer stars – all of whom, however, earn substantial salaries. Salary costs have been a massive problem for Barça so far. Because the club violates the league requirements for salary caps, the newcomers have not yet been officially registered with the association, so they are currently just as ineligible to play as superstar Lionel Messi, who agrees to a significant drop in salary with his new contract – but still around 25 million. Should collect euros per year.
Barça will be able to solve this problem with the CVC money – and maybe even fulfill coach Ronald Koeman’s wish for reinforcements.
At Real Madrid they apparently want to use the money on the one hand to help finance the renovation of the Bernabeu stadium, but also to meet the urgent request of club boss Florentino Perez for a new mega-star. Los Blancos are still fighting behind the scenes for PSG striker Kylian Mbappé (22), whose contract in Paris runs until 2022, but who has not yet received a transfer clearance from his club. There is talk of a transfer fee of around 150 million euros. BVB striker Erling Haaland (21) was also linked to Real this summer.
In addition, Real also has to meet extreme salary requirements. Most recently, “Spiegel” revealed that newcomer David Alaba would collect at least 115 million euros gross by the end of his contract, which runs until the 2025/2026 season. For his signature alone, the ex-Bayern star received a hand money of 17.7 (!) Million euros.
