The x-ray services of the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (IREN) North were enhanced with the acquisition of a 3D mammograph and a latest generation flouroscope, acquired by the regional government of La Libertad to benefit patients with the detection of various diseases , especially oncological ones.
The director of IREN North, Marco Gálvez Villanueva, reported that, with these two new teams, whose investment amount was around S / 3 million soles, it is estimated that around 5,000 services will be completed by the end of this year.
“These services have already started working since the beginning of April. By law, those who have SIS do not pay anything because their care is covered, which benefits enormously since on the private side this represents a high cost. We are complying with bringing health closer to the poorest Peruvians, “he said.
Early stage of cancer
The official pointed out that the 3D mammogram allows detection of breast cancer at an early stage. Using tomosynthesis technology, you can identify any injury with precision and fewer errors; It allows early detection and even when a woman still has no symptoms, making it possible for her to receive early treatment and avoid unfortunate complications.
It is a valuable tool for those with a personal and family history, a personal history of breast cancer, dense glandular tissue, and even those who are following breast lesions.
Gálvez said that the fluorescent uses a technique to obtain images in real time using X-rays of the internal structures of patients. Likewise, it allows the detection of the disease or anomaly and establish the treatment for the patient. This technology makes it easy to view images of the body in real time, similar to taking multiple X-rays.
