Ecatepec, Mex. Municipal and federal authorities reported that starting next Monday, May 9 and until May 13, the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine will be applied to children 12 and 13 years of age.
For this day, three inoculation centers will be set up: the Cultural and Sports Center of the Americas, the Emiliano Zapata Ejidal Sports Center and the Ecatepec Valley State University (UNEVE).
The vaccination sites will be operating from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the application of the biological will correspond to the pre-established calendar according to the first letter of the paternal surname of the beneficiaries.
The municipal president Fernando Vilchis Contreras affirmed that Ecatepec becomes one of the first municipalities in the country to start the application of the immunological to children of 12 and 13 years of age.
He pointed out that during the following week health personnel will be applying the first dose of the Pfizer immunological to children under 12 and 13 years of age, also second doses for young people between 14 and 17 years of age and the booster vaccine to ecatepenses from 12 to 15 years with some comorbidity
He urged parents and adolescents to respect the application calendar, in order to guarantee order and fluidity in the vaccination centers.
He stated that young people must present the printed vaccination file from the page mivacuna.salud.gob.mx or proof of the first dose in case the second is required and vaccination certificate or the first two proofs to receive the booster dose, in addition to birth certificate, CURP and official identification with Ecatepec address of the parent or guardian, proof of address or certificate of residence issued by the Secretary of the City Council.
He stressed that to date in Ecatepec more than 3.2 million doses of different immunological agents have been applied to people over 18, 30, 40 and 60 years of age, who already have the third dose or booster vaccine, for which the government municipal managed an extraordinary day for the immunization of young people from 12 to 17 years of age.
