Mexico City. According to the progress report in the vaccination campaign of the Ministry of Health, this Friday 307 thousand 625 anticovid vaccines were applied throughout the country, with an accumulated of 16 million 214 thousand 484 biologicals administered since last December 24, reported Ruy López Ridaura, director of the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control (Cenaprece).
In updating the National Vaccination Strategy, he pointed out that by priority group, progress has been made, since of the 10 million 591 thousand 628 that have received at least one dose, 4 million 440 thousand 466 have completed their scheme, while 401 thousand 235 workers in the education sector have already been immunized, as well as 968,241 health personnel, of whom 809,711 completed their vaccination schedule.
He explained that the educational staff is the one that advances the fastest, since they are immunized with the CanSino vaccine, which is a single dose. He clarified that only in Campeche was he vaccinated with another brand of antigen, so he will have to apply a second dose. The advance in that entity is 89 percent in immunization.
Chiapas, reports an advance of 52 percent in the vaccination of its educational personnel; Coahuila 83 percent; Nayarit, with 85 percent; Tamaulipas, with 61 percent; and Veracruz, with 81 percent.
In the update of the state of the pandemic in Mexico, Santa Ceballos, director of the Epidemiological Surveillance of Communicable Diseases, detailed that the confirmed deaths increased by 349, 214 thousand 853, while the recovered population is one million 848 thousand 177.
He indicated that the estimated cases report an increase of 10 percent. Estimated active cases total 26,890, which represents one percent of the infections detected to date.
In an afternoon conference at the National Palace, he indicated that 14 percent hospital occupancy is reported nationwide. In general hospital beds, he indicated that a reduction of one percent is reported, with 13 percentage points of the national average, while in beds with ventilators the national occupancy rate is 19 percent.
He added that only Chihuahua and Tabasco are the entities that report an occupancy of beds of more than 30 percent. He indicated that they also remain in the orange color of the epidemic risk traffic light.
