Given the gradual return to face-to-face activities, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) released the guidelines to follow in order to achieve a safe and responsible return. Meanwhile, starting Monday, some sports activities will be resumed in open spaces.
In addition to calling to respect basic measures, such as the use of face masks and respect for a healthy distance, he asked academic entities and agencies to determine the capacity for workspaces, carry out training programs on actions to prevent infections and keep informed to the students.
In the document “General guidelines for the return to university activities”, he indicated that the application of these measures is mandatory and general for the entire community. He asked the university students to stay at home if they have symptoms of respiratory disease or related to Covid-19, avoid the presence of companions, especially minors and people at high risk against the virus, as well as use the health security filters.
The UNAM stated that, because the size and capacity of the study spaces are highly variable, each entity or agency must determine its safe capacity. It established that it can be taken as general guidelines to reduce the number of people to a maximum of 30 percent of its capacity or to allocate 3 square meters per individual.
In the access to common areas such as bathrooms, dressing rooms, lockers, among others, marks should be placed in appropriate places that indicate the minimum distance between people, in addition to promoting natural ventilation.
