Mexico City. With a significant increase in online or digital activities, especially since the pandemic, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) has constantly issued recommendations for the safe use of the Internet network and telecommunications devices in support to education.
The head of the SEP, Delfina Gómez Alvarez, indicated that the unit encourages the students of the National Educational System to enjoy their experiences in digital environments without danger, safely and with the greatest possible educational benefit.
During his participation in the start of the safe Internet for everyone 2021 day, he indicated that recommendations are constantly issued so that officials, teachers, students, mothers, fathers and guardians, develop a sense of responsible digital citizenship, and He stated that currently, with the increase in online activity, especially since the pandemic, these cybersecurity recommendations have increased.
Accompanied by the Head of the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, she recognized the importance of the days for a safe internet, which, she said, are of deep interest for the agency for the sake of girls, boys, adolescents and young people to become responsible digital citizens.
He commented that the conferences instill fundamental values in the digital field, such as the protection of personal data; the dispersion of information on social networks; caution in accessing unknown or risky links, and updating devices and software.
