La Jornada – Recruitment is still open for the final phase of the Homeland vaccine: Conacyt

Mexico City. The National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) reported that to respect the final phase of the clinical development of the Mexican vaccine against COVID-19 Patria®, in collaboration with Laboratorio Avi-Mex, SA de CV, keeps registration open to recruit volunteers living in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Oaxaca; Morelia, Michoacan, Merida, Yucatan; Tlalnepantla, state of Mexico and Acapulco, Guerrero.

Interested parties must be at least 18 years of age, have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and have had four months since the last vaccine or booster application. Pregnant or breastfeeding women will not be able to participate in this call. All volunteers must be in good general health; If any chronic disease is present, it should be monitored for at least three months prior to the start of the study.

Importantly, preliminary results from the clinical development phases to date demonstrate that Patria® is safe, promotes antibody generation, and has the potential to be used as a universal reinforcer.

This final phase requires at least 3,860 volunteers, which is carried out according to a protocol approved by the National Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation in Public Health (CNCTI-SP) and the Federal Commission on Protection from Health Risks (Cofepris).

For questions or concerns from the population concerned, Conacyt has set up the VACUNA PATRIA chat, which can be found at the bottom of the page patria.conacyt.mx.
