La Jornada – Recruitment for the final clinical stage of the Patria vaccine concludes

The National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) announced that it has concluded the recruitment for the final stage of clinical development of the Mexican vaccine Patria against covid-19, which it carries out in collaboration with the Avi-Mex, SA de CV Laboratory (Avimex). .

He recalled that this project involves Mexican scientists and volunteers from various research sites in Mexico City, Aguascalientes (Aguascalientes), Oaxaca de Juárez (Oaxaca), Morelia (Michoacán), Mérida (Yucatán), Tlalnepantla (Mexico State) and Acapulco. (Warrior).

Conacyt and Avimex thanked all the people who supported Patria’s research, through their participation in the final stage of clinical development of the Mexican vaccine against covid-19, under a protocol approved by the National Committee for Science, Technology and Innovation in Public Health (CNCTI-SP) and the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris).

Thanks to the fact that the objective of voluntary participation was reached in accordance with the provisions of the research protocol, he indicated, “in the coming months it will be possible to obtain preliminary information that allows verifying the efficacy of the Patria vaccine.”

With the Patria vaccine, the Conacyt highlighted, “Mexico advances in the recovery of vaccine sovereignty in favor of the life and health of people to guarantee the full right to enjoy the benefits that science, technology and innovation produce , supporting the generation of capacities for clinical research”.
