The president of the National Institute for Women, Nadine Gasman, said that the Camina Libre, Camina Segura trails, inaugurated in the capital, will contribute to improving the perception of guarantees to the population, particularly women, who in surveys report feeling unsafe when going outside.

During the inauguration of the trails located on Municipio Libre and Cuauhtémoc avenues, in Benito Juárez, Gasman recalled that a survey by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography states that “80 percent of women in Mexico do not feel safe walking on the streets. .

“That is the great challenge we have in Mexico as a country, in many parts of the world, where unfortunately women do not feel safe in the streets, nor do we feel safe in the houses, it must be said.”

In the recently recovered Parque Zapata, he commented that the government of Mexico is coordinating with municipalities in the states and the capital “to work to prevent forms of violence, to change this situation of insecurity.”
