La Jornada – Mexico exceeds 45 million doses of anti-Covid vaccine applied

Mexico City. With the application of 709 thousand 366 vaccines against the coronavirus yesterday, Mexico exceeded the figure of 45 million doses used since the start of the strategy on December 24, while infections continue to rise. Deaths increased with 244, so the national registry rose to 233 thousand 47, indicates the report of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the number of people with active infection and transmission capacity of the virus, rose to 38,179; that’s 2,891 more than on Tuesday. The increase in the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is also observed in the epidemic curve that until June 16 maintained an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous Wednesday (June 9).

The occupancy of general hospital beds rose to 19 percent nationally and that of beds with a ventilator remains at 15 percent.

The entities that concentrate 86 percent of the active cases are Mexico City, followed by Baja California Sur, Tabasco, Yucatán, the state of Mexico, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas, Sonora, Veracruz, Sinaloa and Nuevo León.
