Philadelphia. Cameroonian power forward Joel Embiid stood out in the NBA this Monday by leading the Philadelphia 76ers in their 133-113 victory over the Houston Rockets with a ‘triple-double’.
Embiid had 31 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, to the sound of “MVP!” (acronym for Most Valuable Player in English), sung by the spectators. It is the fourth consecutive game in which he has scored at least 30 points. He played the entire first quarter and led the Sixers to a 34-30 lead.
In turn, Turkish guard Furkan Korkmaz scored 24 points and Isaiah Joe added 18 points for the Sixers, while Garrison Matthews led the Rockets in scoring with 23 cards.
In Brooklyn, the star guard of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant, had a spectacular performance with 36 points to consolidate the victory over the hosts Nets by 118-104, thereby beating star Kevin Durant in a personal duel.
