Mexico City. The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) reported that it met the vaccination goal against covid-19 during Operation April, once it applied 2.25 million doses to the population, both in reinforcements, second and first application. He indicated that he deployed his medical staff in the 35 state Representations, the Family Medicine Units, Second Level Hospitals and High Specialty Medical Units.
In this way, the intensive vaccination phase that was established during April, in which all the institutions of the Health Sector participated, and immunization against covid-19 will continue in the vaccination centers determined by the Federal Government, it said in a statement.
He explained that between April 11 and 30, the IMSS diversified its actions to bring the vaccine in vehicles, boats or on foot, in order to bring it closer to where the population needed it. It had the support of public servants, business chambers, universities, among others, to achieve these objectives.
He added that the nursing staff, doctors, brigade members vaccinated with the appropriate sanitary measures in rural areas, ejidos, public spaces such as theaters, courts, schools, kiosks, hotels, airports, bus terminals, shopping malls, markets, prisons , asylums and even house to house, through the “vacuvochito”, in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Biologicals were also applied in companies that enabled their spaces as immunization centers. In this vaccination period, the IMSS repeatedly called on the population to be protected from covid-19.
He indicated that immunization allows progress towards a New Normality of social or economic activities, continue with the application of vaccines in later stages, as well as address other priority issues of the health system such as improving services, reducing waiting times for diagnostic studies , consultations or surgeries, have more specialists, equipment and infrastructure.
