La Jornada – Giannis, Bluter and Harden lecture in the NBA

Greece’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler and James Harden stood out in the NBA with performances from grandmasters to guide their respective teams to victory.

Antetokounmpo overflowed with 47 points and teammate Khris Middleton tied the record for a Milwaukee franchise player for 3-pointers as the champion Bucks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 109-102.

After missing eight games due to Covid-19, Middleton came back and hit consecutive triples in the fourth quarter and his Bucks took the lead, with a lead they held until the end.

In Miami, Butler finished with a triple-double on his return from a sprained right ankle with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the Heat’s 113-98 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

In New York, Harden scored 27 points, LaMarcus Aldridge 24 and Kevin Durant 23 as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 109-99.

In Mexico, on the other hand, the defending champion, Fuerza Regia, took the lead against the Astros de Jalisco by defeating them 111-101 in the first game of the final series of the National Professional Basketball League. The series will continue this Thursday in Guadalajara, before moving to Monterrey for the next two games.
