In a night of great camaraderie and enjoyment, but where it was emphasized that there is no revolution without music, the 65 thousand allies of the rock group Caifanes who saturated the new GNP Seguros stadium enrolled in a journey through time, where sanity was lost.
The Iztacalco venue shook with the ritual of the mythical band that emerged almost 40 years ago, which was crowned for the first time with a sold out in this property.
At 9:18 p.m. Saúl Hernández appeared with guitar in hand and immediately got his followers on their feet, who began to play the song with the singer and composer. Fear.
Followed Wind And in the stadium the crowd was already singing in unison. Hernandez was joined by Diego Herrera and his sax; Alfonso André soon appeared on percussion to join in on the song. Before they forget usdedicated to remembering the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa, as well as the murdered journalists. Phrases such as: when every grenadier knows how to read and write, Mexico will be greater, appeared on giant screens.
Con The hidden godsthe five musicians that make up Caifanes were already on stage and the audience went wild. Not even the persistent rain dampened the enthusiasm. The audience sang, danced and hugged each other, while the veteran rockers shone with the accumulation of projections and multicoloured lights.
The group’s performance was joined by other instruments, particularly brass instruments intended to accompany the songs. So you don’t say that I don’t think about you, Clouds y I’m coming after you.
The singer told his faithful souls: It’s impressive! The greatest spectacle in this concert is you, my people, you are great and unbeatable.
Hernández introduced another great musician, Guillermo Briseño, whom he defined as a guide and teacher. Accompanied by a pianist, he performed Maria of my alchemies.
Another legendary musician who accompanied the band was Sergio Arau, who with his immortal Cough alarm took over a stage where words of support, solidarity, resistance, resilience resonated, along with denunciations of various painful social issues that need to be made visible in contemporary Mexico.
The hits continued until reaching another climax when Vivir Quintana came on stage and sang her feminist anthem Song without fear. Not one more, was the slogan.
Hernández said: We have been denouncing feminicides for years and the State simply turns a blind eye, that is the reality.
Since the doors opened a few hours earlier, groups of fans of all ages and generations entered the venue – with t-shirts and accessories alluding to the band – who acclimatized themselves to a stage transformed into a universe that dazzled with the word Caifanes in the center and side screens.
From the shining stands and other areas of the former Foro Sol, the multitudinous energy spread towards the center where Saúl Hernández, Alfonso André, Diego Herrera, Marco Rentería and Rodrigo Baills led the Caifanera party, after an uninterrupted tour with which they have reached various points of the country and abroad.
It’s just pistols, Caifanes! was one of the many shouts heard among the audience.
In Mexico City alone, the band has sold out two dates last April at the National Auditorium, the one on August 31 at the GNP Seguros stadium and the next one at the Palacio de los Deportes, on December 7.
