The Galaxy achieved their sixth victory in the Traffic Classic by beating Los Angeles FC 2-1 at the Dignity Health Sports Park, in week 6 of the MLS. Javier Chicharito Hernndez scored the first goal of the match to command the victory of his team, while Carlos candle did not have the best of afternoons.
At 13 minutes, Chicharito Hernandez opened the scoring with a great header, with which recorded his fifth goal so far this season.
After the goal, LAFC went more on the offensive and had good arrivals at the rival goal, one of the clearest was from Carlos Vela, who incredibly missed his shot and sent it to the bottom of the post, at minute 26 ‘The Bomber’ scored the tie for his team but it was annulled for being in a forward position.
The pleasure did not last long for the visit and the Galaxy, with Sga Coulibaly, revived the stadium’s fans again by scoring the 2-0 half an hour into the game. Carlos Vela’s team still had one before the end of the first half but goalkeeper Jonathan Bond had a great performance.
After going down on the scoreboard Los Angeles FC came out with all the attack and were close to scoring, at 46′ Vela had another great opportunity that ended in a goal but was ruled out again for offside.
When it seemed that the game was controlled Greg Vanney took out Javier Hernndez, Dejan Jovelji came on instead, but in the final minutes the game tilted for the visit, which at 80 minutes he scored the discount with Cristian Arango.
Vela’s squad continued to attack and almost equalized in the last minutes, after a review, the VAR annulled the goal for another offside and LA Galaxy took a long-suffering victory.
