Atalanta opens his way on Italian League 2020/2021 very well. La Dea beat Torino 4-2.
Compete at the Stadio Olimpico Turin, Atalanta left behind first in the 11th minute through Andrea Belotti’s goal. Taking advantage of Tomas Rincon’s breakthrough bait, Belotti managed to tear Marco Sportiello’s goal.
Atalanta quickly responded to the goal. Papu Gomez changed the score to 1-1 in the 13th minute, after his shot from outside the penalty box failed to be dammed by Salvatore Sirigu.
La Dea turned 2-1 ahead in the 21st minute. Papu Gomez provided the pass to Luis Muriel, which he finished with the goal.
Hans Hateboer increased Atalanta’s lead to 3-1 in the 42nd minute. Hateboer’s goal came from a volley after continuing Papu Gomez’s pass.
Torino quickly reduced the deficit to 2-3 in the 43rd minute. Mergim Vojvoda’s cross was met with a header from Belotti, which Sportiello was unable to stop. The score lasted until halftime.
Atalanta increased the lead to 2-4 in the second half, to be precise the 55th minute. This time it was Marten de Roon who listed his name on the scoreboard after continuing with Luis Muriel’s pass.
Torino was unable to pose a significant threat to Atalanta in the second half. Il Toro almost conceded again in the 64th minute through Ruslan Malinovskiy’s close range shot, which Sirigu could still beat.
Torino’s attack intensity began to increase in the final 10 minutes of the match. Some of the momentum was obtained through shots from outside the penalty box and set-pieces, but none of them resulted in a goal until the match was complete.
This victory temporarily puts Atalanta in fourth position. Torino is at the bottom of the standings after losing twice.
