La Cubana and her Goodbye Arturo conquers Valladolid

The company La Cubana returns to Valladolid after 14 years with ‘Adiós Arturo’, a comedy full of music and color to “celebrate life and have lived it” through a posthumous tribute to the versatile imaginary artist Arturo Cirera Mompou.

This has been highlighted by its director and author of the play, Jordi Milan, on this proposal that will stop at the Calderón Theater in the capital from this Thursday, September 5 to 15, coinciding with the celebration of the Fair and Festivities of Our Lady of the Virgin from San Lorenzo.

‘Adiós Arturo’ is presented as a comic and colorful funeral dedicated to Arturo Cirera Mompou, an artist who died no less than the 101 year old who left his last wish that his death be “a party” at the Calderón, the city’s main theater where – in this case – he was born in 1918.

Thus, this versatile character came to the world in Platerias Street and trained at the Colegio San José before leaving with his family for Valencia, from where he would later move abroad to achieve international fame, giving rise to a show that extols “the life, live it intensely and have lived. “
