The last performance of the Chirimurga del Timple has gone viral in the last hours on social networks. The Canarian group has returned to the stage of the Archipelago in an atypical Carnival accompanied -of course- by their characteristic letters that are a reflection of a society with different ways of thinking.
One of his songs “There is a black man on the seashore”, dedicated to immigration and those vague speeches that are easily disassembled and that in recent days have led to episodes of racism and xenophobia, it has been shared thousands of times. It is about this small fragment of the show “Los Paranoicos” that La Chirimurga del Timple presented this Sunday at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Now, the carnival group will pass on its tour through different towns in the Canary Islands such as Santa Cruz de La Palma, Agüimes, Los Realejos, Teror, Vallehermoso, Gáldar and Tejeda, among other municipalities that are pending to be confirmed in their agenda.
La Chirimurga was created in 2016 by a group of singer-songwriters in the Canary Islands in order to bring carnival to the streets, approaching passersby with an acid, critical and humorous message. It was born with the aim of adding variants to the carnival, adding fun options, adding closeness and a critical spirit.
