“La Carroza del Real” arrives in San Javier to grandly inaugurate the 54th edition of the Theater, Music and Dance Festival

La Carroza del Real, from the Teatro Real in Madrid, will inaugurate the 54th San Javier International Festival of Theatre, Music and Dance, with a show that includes popular opera arias and duets and zarzuela. The show that visits the Region of Murcia for the first time is part of Teatro Real’s vocation as a national opera house and its successful campaign to introduce an artistic offer throughout the Spanish geography with a level travel

The project is inspired by “La Barraca”, the famous Federico García Lorca theater group. The spectacular stage of the Teatro Real will present its 16 meters long by 5.80 meters high in Parque Almansa, in which it will be the first of three free exhibitions in open spaces registered for San Javier Fest 2024. Piana, Cristina Sanz and three singers: Rosa María Gomariz, Soprano, Alejandra Acuña, Mezzo-soprano and Román Bordón, Baritone.

The program is divided into two parts and includes arias and duets from some of the most famous operas such as “O mio babbino caro”, from the opera “Gianni Schicchi”, by Giacomo Puccini; “Là ci darem la mano” from “Don Giovanni”, by Mozart, or the bullfighter’s song from “Carmen”, by Bizet, among others. Zarzuelas romances such as “La revoltosa” by Ruperto Chapí and elegant pieces such as “Four Spanish Pieces” by Manuel de Falla and the operetta “The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehár will also be performed.
