La Aldea wants to stop breast cancer

The mobile unit of the Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer program, dependent on the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) will be located in the parking lots of the Los Cascajos Sports Center until March 14, in order to perform mammograms on the aforementioned village women for this, without the need to travel outside the municipality.

This Tuesday the Councilor for Neighborhoods and Public Services, Rafael Hernández, visited the mobile unit to make an assessment of the service that is being provided in the municipality since Monday.

In this regard, Hernández has highlighted the importance of having this mobile unit that “is not the first time that it has moved to the municipality”, since “it prevents many women from having to move to other places, thus reducing the inconveniences that this management it supposes for the patients in time and money”.

For her part, the mayor of Social Welfare of the City Council of La Aldea de San Nicolás, Yazmina Llarena, has indicated that “it is important to carry out this type of preventive tests”, for which she has encouraged women between 50 and 69 years to “take advantage of the opportunity to get a mammogram.”

This service is possible thanks to the efforts made by the government group of the Town Hall of La Aldea de San Nicolás, which also provides the parking space for the mobile unit and also provides daily cleaning service.
