Nice made the meeting easy. From a half-volley, on a badly rejected corner, Pierre Lees-Melou unblocked the situation (1-0, 8th). Amine Gouiri made the difference after a misunderstanding between Sow and his goalkeeper Moulin (2-0, 30th). Saint-Étienne returned from the break with better intentions. Aouchiche took advantage of a Benitez ball to reduce the gap (2-1, 57th). The Stéphanois could have had a chance to equalize but Amaury Delerue did not whistle a penalty for a foul by Dante in his area. Maolida took the opportunity to close the meeting (3-1, 90th + 1). The Niçois, thanks to their victory at Geoffroy-Guichard, return to fifth place in Ligue 1.
