Spurs winners catchy on the night of Monday to Tuesday, the Nets are now preparing for a game against the Rockets. The return of James Harden to Houston will certainly be very scrutinized, so much so that Kyrie Irving preferred to warn the opposing fans before this reunion.
Despite its innocuous appearances, Brooklyn’s success at the AT&T Center was meant to be historical reality. It had been 19 years since the Nets had won on the floor of Spurs. At the time, it was Jason Kidd (28 points, 11 rebounds) who carried his team to victory, despite the exploits of Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
A feat that seems very distant, and that James Harden and his teammates managed to imitate on the night of Monday to Tuesday. This time it’s the Bearded Man, author of a line of stats simply unseen for 44 years, which can be especially thanked. He also allowed his team to keep in touch with the 76ers at the top of the Eastern standings.
With just half a game behind the conference leaders, Steve Nash’s men (23-13) hope to seize the throne quickly. This could include a victory against the Rockets, the next opponent of the franchise. A meeting that will prove to be symbolic for Harden from a personal point of view.

Arrived from Houston a few weeks ago, the 2018 MVP will make his first comeback on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The reception that Texas fans will give him will obviously be the subject of special attention. As such, Kyrie Irving wished to play the card of appeasement with them, as reported by Michael Scotto of USA Today.
Everyone who will be watching the game from home, have fun. There will be no tension or trash-talking on the floor about James, either in my presence, or in anyone’s presence. We’re just going to land in Houston to play a good basketball game.
A priori, the New Yorkers should not therefore laugh at the record of H-Town since the departure of Harden, yet quite laughable (8-16, 12 consecutive defeats). On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how the 2,000 spectators allowed to enter the Toyota Center treat the old one of the house. Some might indeed not be conciliatory with him.
A month and a half after James Harden’s highly publicized transfer to Brooklyn, his return to his former homeland is finally looming. For the occasion, he and the Nets should be exemplary if we are to believe Kyrie Irving.
