Star transfer in the NBA just four days from the trade deadline and two weeks from the All-Star Game, as Kyrie Irving goes to the Dallas Mavericks to form a fearsome duo with the Slovenian Luka Doncic in the Western Conference (where the team is in sixth place with a 28-26 mark, fighting for a direct berth to the Postseason).
Designated to become a free agent this summer and after failing to negotiate the terms of a long-term contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets, Irving requested Friday to be traded.
LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers and Devin Booker’s Phoenix Suns were two of the most popular destinations for the point guard, but in the end Doncic’s Mavs have hit the table.
It is Dallas and Brooklyn trade – first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski – presupposes that the Mavericks will offer Irving a big contract long term to form together with Luka “Magic” one of the most spectacular duos in the NBA in guard positions.

Los Nets, with Kevin Durant as the top star, are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 32-20 record. in this transfer they will receive to two players: Spencer Dinwiddie y Dorian Finney Smithas well as a 2029 Draft first-round pick and multiple second rounds.
Irving was selected as a starter for the All-Star Game on February 19 in Utah, where other stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic and Steph Curry will also participate.
