Comedy, drama, tragedy, spectacular… As a complete actor, Nick Kyrgios can deliver any kind of sequence on a tennis court. So when he sees an actor in the stands, he can’t help but improvise a scene. Like in Indian Wells, March 18, in the middle of the quarterfinal against Rafael Nadal.
– Nick Kyrgios, to a spectator sitting in Ben Stiller’s row: Do you play? Are you good at tennis?
Spectator: Nope.
– Nick Kyrgios: Exactly. So why are you talking?
(Break time)
– Nick Kyrgios, pointing to Ben Stiller – a big fan of Nadal – with his racket: do I tell him how to behave? No.
I didn’t hear well, I wasn’t sure if he (Kyrgios) was talking to me.
Ben Stiller
A little less than a month later, Ben Stiller reacted to this comedy. “Nick Kyrgios kept repeating to himself: ‘Dude, pass your first ball'”, he said inside The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. “And a man sitting next to me decided to say, ‘Yeah, put your first serve on the court.’ Then Kyrgios looked at me and said: ‘Shall I tell him how to behave?’ But I hadn’t heard right, I wasn’t sure he was talking to me. And it went viral.”
If Nick Kyrgios can’t tell Ben Stiller how to act, in return she could give him two or three tennis lessons.
