Kyren Wilson beats Jak Jones in the final and succeeds Luca Brecel as world snooker champion

Kyren Wilson has won the world snooker title and is the successor to Luca Brecel. The Englishman defeated Jak Jones 18-14 in the final. It is the first world title of Wilson’s career.

After the first session, Wilson had already taken a serious option on the world title by building a 7-1 lead. After the second session the score was 11-6, still a comfortable lead for Wilson. In the afternoon session of the second day, Jones made up ground to 10-13, but Wilson finished strongly and went into the evening with a 15-10 lead. Jones gave some resistance in that evening session by returning to 17-14, but Wilson took the lead with 18-14.
