The world of American entertainment and, in particular, reality television seem to be undergoing a paradigm shift in relation to the canons of beauty that until now they projected. Celebrities like Blac Chyna, who was a partner of Rob Kardashian, or the rapper Cardi B, to give two notorious examples, have gone from tooth and nail to defending their decision to undergo as many aesthetic operations as their fortune allowed them, to openly denying operations and return to the operating room to get rid of implants and other devices.
The last to exhibit this new mentality is Kylie Jenner (25), the youngest of the Kardashian clan and a successful businesswoman thanks to her firm Kylie Cosmetics. Curiously, the socialite has turned to her family program, ‘The Kardashians’, to warn of the dangers derived from those aesthetic conventions that her sisters and she herself have imposed over the last decade. In an increasingly less subtle way, the young woman has begun to deny her past to bet on a more natural appearance: an attitude that she also wants to transmit to her little girl Stormi de ella, five years old.
“I think that all of us should open a conversation about the beauty standards that we have established. I do not want my daughter to follow the steps that I have taken,” she assures in a preview of the next broadcast of the Disney + space. “I wish I hadn’t touched anything,” she then adds of the transformations her appearance has undergone since she was a teenager, especially notable in her lips and cheekbones.
In recent weeks, the former partner of rapper Travis Scott, with whom he has the aforementioned Stormi and little Aire, has offered somewhat disparate statements about the relationship between his physique and his state of mind. After finally admitting that her current face is the result of various interventions, Kylie maintained that her changes did not respond to a too “insecure” personality. However, she also recognized that her lips had always been a headache. “People think that I have had a lot of face surgery and that I am a very insecure person. And it is not true,” she pointed out. “My only insecurity was the lips, I got filler and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made,” she qualified in conversation with People magazine.
