Kylie Jenner will probably stay away from political statements in the future. After Hamas’ attack on Israel, the reality actress and entrepreneur deleted an Israeli flag with the message “Now and forever – We stand with the people of Israel” from her Instagram page as quickly as she uploaded it.
The sudden withdrawal on Sunday was preceded by angry posts from many of her approximately 400 million followers, who accused Jenner of naivety and a lack of backbone.
“Don’t get involved in politics and say you support Israel. Palestine has been suffering for ages,” complained one fan. Another follower accused the twenty-six-year-old of betraying her friend Bella Hadid. The model’s father, real estate investor Mohamed Hadid, has Palestinian roots.

The fact that Jenner deleted the post without comment after the hostility was also seen by many as evidence of the superficiality of the cosmetics entrepreneur’s appearance on social media. The Kardashians’ half-sister’s supposed commitment to Israel, they alleged, had merely served as clickbait.
