Kylian Mbappé’s Mood After Champions League Match Against Borussia Dortmund Sparks Controversy

Despite the fact that a 1:1 draw secured Paris Saint-Germain’s progress to the round of 16 of the Champions League, the star of the French team was not in the best mood after the match against Borussia Dortmund. Immediately after Kylian Mbappé thanked the fans for their support, he quickly left for the club bus.

French media reports that the 24-year-old forward was angered by Luis Enrique’s request in the last minutes of the match. The coach of the Parisians wanted the team to keep the ball and not make any risky moves in the pursuit of victory. He made the decision after finding out that AC Milan had turned the match at Newcastle 2-1 in the second half and a loss for PSG would have ruined the French champions’ chances of promotion.

“What do I think about the reaction? Kylian Mbappého? It’s normal for the players to be disappointed because we had five clear chances and didn’t convert them. I understand he is angry because he wants us to score more goals, but I am the one who has to assess the risks. It would be stupid to concede a goal in the 85th minute and go out.

At first we were not at all interested in what was happening in another match. However, after AC Milan’s second goal, things changed. I urged the players to try to win but without taking unnecessary risks,” explained Luis Enrique.

“When the emotions subside, we realize that we have achieved success. We had the hardest group. Yes, we wanted to finish in first place, but I’m glad we advanced,” added the Spanish coach.

Paris Saint-Germain have eight points ahead of AC Milan thanks to better head-to-head matches. The winner of Group F was Borussia Dortmund with 11 points, and Newcastle United finished at the bottom of the table with only 4 points.
