Kylian Mbappe scored a brace as Paris Saint-Germain beat struggling Olympique Lyonnais 4-1 away to give the defending champions their second successive Ligue 1 victory on Sunday.
Mbappe executed a successful penalty kick in the fourth minute and scored the fourth goal before the break, raising Saint-Germain to eight points from four matches, occupying second place, two points behind leaders Monaco.
The visitors won the penalty kick after Manuel Ugarte was fouled by Lyon captain Corentin Tolisso, then Ashraf Hakimi added the second goal in the 20th minute after exchanging the ball with Osman Dembele.
Marco Asensio converted the score to 3-0 in the 38th minute, before Mbappe completed Saint-Germain’s dominance with a fourth goal.
Tolisso scored an honorable goal from a penalty kick for the hosts in the second half, to suffice Lyon with one point from the first four matches of the season, which raises doubts about the future of coach Laurent Blanc.
