Footballers Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland are the three finalists for FIFA’s “The Best” award, for the best player in the world.
Initially, the list had 12 names, including Portuguese Bernardo Silva, as well as Declan Rice, Ilkay Gundogan, Julián Álvarez, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kevin De Bruyne, Marcelo Brozovic, Rodri and Victor Osimhen.
The list was reduced to three finalists, who «were chosen by an international jury made up of coaches of men’s national teams, captains of men’s teams, football journalists and fans who voted through the website FIFA.com».
In 2022, Lionel Messi, current Inter Miami player, was the winner.
The Best FIFA 2023 gala takes place on January 15, 2024, in London.
