Very few would have expected this name. When Kylian Mbappé spoke of the most important players on his team at the “Globe Soccer Awards”, the Frenchman was able to choose between absolute world stars.
Instead of his storm colleague Neymar or the seven-time world footballer Lionel Messi, Mbappé picked someone else for special praise: Marco Verratti.
The midfielder is one of the most important players in the Paris Saint-Germain squad for the 2018 world champions: “Verratti has been in Paris for so many years and an absolute key player,” the 23-year-old told Sky Italia.

Verratti moved to Paris in 2012 and has been one of the undisputed regular players in the French capital for almost a decade.
Mbappé wins ahead of Lewandowski
But Mbappé doesn’t have to hide from his teammate. Recently, the French striker Robert Lewandwoski stood out at the “Globe Soccer Awards” and was named “Best Player of the Year” ahead of the Pole.
An award that was surprising: Mbappé was only ninth in the prestigious “Ballon d’Or” election.
Robert Lewandowski, on the other hand, was second behind Mbappé’s team-mate Lionel Messi.
