Forward Kylian Mbappe, scorer of one of Paris Saint Germain’s goals against Lens, on matchday thirty-one, became the top scorer in the history of Paris Saint Germain in Ligue 1, with 139 goals.
The Parisian attacker, who opened his team’s account in the Parc des Princes duel, surpasses the record of the Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, who left the French entity with 138 goals in his backpack.
Mbappe has twenty goals and five assists this season in Ligue 1, one more than Canadian Jonathan David of Lille and Alexander Lacazette of Lyon, and five more than his Argentine teammate Leo Messi.
Paris Saint-Germain took a big step towards their goal of retaining their title by beating second-placed Lens 3-1 at home, who played much of the game with one less.
With 72 points, the team from the capital extended its advantage over Lens (63) to nine points, which could lose its second place in the standings on Sunday, as Marseille (3rd, 61) is two points behind and receives the modest Troyes (18th).
