Kyle Guy: The former Panathinaikos player stopped playing basketball at the age of 27 – The reason – 2024-08-08 00:02:22

Kyle Guy made the decision to end his basketball career a few days before his 27th birthday. The former Panathinaikos and Tenerife player will assume a position (Athlete Development Mentor/Special Assistant) at the University of Virginia basketball team.

Guy returns to the team where he spent his college years after a five-year career in professional basketball. He was selected No. 55 in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft and was a member of the Sacramento and Miami teams. He then transferred to Spain, initially playing for Badalona.

The beginning of last season found him in Greece on behalf of Panathinaikos, where he left a few months later to join Tenerife, with whose shirt he faced Peristeri in the Final 4 of the Basketball Champions League.

In his final season as a professional basketball player, Guy averaged 14.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists per 21.1 minutes in 17 Liga Endesa games and 21.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists per 26.9 minutes in 11 games in the Basketball Champions League.
