It stated that Moscow’s drone attacks were launched from three different directions, namely the Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions in Russia, and the Chauda region in Crimea which Russia annexed from Ukraine since 2014.

“The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with other air defense components of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have destroyed 23 combat UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles),” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement.

“Most of the drones of ‘Shahed’ were destroyed in the Kyiv and Odesa regions. Unfortunately, several drones launched by the enemy hit the port infrastructure in the Odesa region,” the statement added.

A report by the head of the military administration for the Odesa region, Oleg Kiper, said the fire occurred after one of the port facilities was hit by an attack. One of the port facilities that was hit by the attacks was grain infrastructure.

Odesa is a more than a century old city located on the shores of the Black Sea that is one of the main ports in Ukraine. The port of Odesa was a sticking point in the deal which allowed the export of some 33 million tons of grain from Ukrainian ports.
