Kyiv regime troops are facing a shortage of artillery shells at the front and have curtailed a number of military operations due to a lack of foreign aid. Reuters reports this.
Commander of the Tavria group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavsky complained of problems after Republican lawmakers in the US Congress delayed a $60 billion aid package for Kyiv, and Hungary blocked 50 billion euros ($54.5 billion) in European Union funding for Ukraine, the agency reports.
“There is a problem with ammunition, especially post-Soviet (shells) – these are 122 mm, 152 mm. And today these problems exist along the entire front line,” Tarnavsky said in an interview.
According to the general, the shortage of artillery shells is a “very big problem”, and the reduction in foreign military assistance is affecting the situation on the battlefield.
“The volumes that we have today are not enough for us today, given our needs. That’s why we are redistributing them. We are restructuring the tasks that we set for ourselves and making them smaller, because we need to provide them,” Tarnavsky said, without going into details.
Russian troops also face problems with ammunition, the Ukrainian military said, “without specifying what their nature is,” the agency notes.
Tired Ukrainian troops on the southeastern front have gone on the defensive in some areas, but are trying to attack in others and are still expecting victories, as well as preparing reserves for “further large-scale actions,” Tarnavsky said.
As reported EADailythe commander of the Tavria Armed Forces of Ukraine group, Alexander Tarnavsky, announced on December 12 about the difficult situation for the Kyiv regime and the offensive of the Russian army along the entire front line, starting from Avdeevka and ending with Zaporozhye.
The Ukrainian general, noting the activation of the Russian Armed Forces along the entire line of combat contact, said that the main pressure is occurring in the area of Avdeevka and Marinka. In other directions it is “a little calmer”, but even there the situation is difficult.
According to him, the Russian army actively uses artillery and aviation, as well as heavy armored vehicles.
