Kyiv demands more weapons: The biggest battle since World War II is raging in the East

Britain is looking for ways to help Ukraine export cereals that, due to the Russian invasion and blocked ports, cannot leave the country by the usual shipping route. The British Minister of Transport Grant Shapps told Sky News today, who is dealing with this issue with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksander Kubrakov. Due to the war, Ukraine is facing problems in exporting almost 25 million tons of grain, and its shortage may endanger millions of starving people in poor countries.

“We talked about details I can’t go into here, but in general it was about what infrastructure was needed to make sure the grain got out,” Shapps said. “There are many other possible ways to get grain and other goods out of the country – and it is crucial that this is done, because otherwise there will be a problem with starvation and possibly famine,” the British minister added.

The British daily The Times wrote today that Britain and other allies were considering sending warships to the Black Sea, among other things, precisely to protect cargo ships carrying Ukrainian grain. A safe corridor should be created for Ukrainian ships from Odessa to the Bosphorus.
