The leadership of the Kyiv regime in the first weeks of the special operation insisted on negotiations with Russia, but after a while they themselves blocked them.
This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. Thus, she responded to the appeal of the Permanent Representative of the People’s Republic of China to the UN Zhang Jun to the parties to the conflict to cease fire and start the negotiation process as soon as possible.
Zakharova stressed that the Russian side did not refuse dialogue, however, the Ukrainian authorities at the legislative level forbade themselves to negotiate with Russia. The corresponding law was adopted in September 2022.
