Kyara Villanella defends herself against criticism after speaking about trans women: “I never said I don’t respect them”

The model and influencer Kyara Villanella, eldest daughter of Keiko Fujimori, has gone viral on social networks for the frontal response she gave in the Miss Teen Universe 2023 contestwhere he is participating on behalf of Peru.

During the preliminary phase of the international contest, Alberto Fujimori’s granddaughter was interviewed by members of the jury, who asked her opinion about “plus-size women and transgender women participating in beauty contests.”

“I think they should have their own contest because in biology, in science, we are the XX chromosome and men are XY. So on a scientific basis, transgender women should have their own pageant. As for plus size women, I think the message they want to send about beauty at all sizes is great. “I love it,” responded Villanella Fujimori.

Kyara Villanella’s response was not liked by some users, mostly from the LGBT community. In the midst of the wave of criticism, the 15-year-old beauty queen came forward to respond to those who call her “transphobic” on networks.

“Biologically, women have XX chromosomes and men have XY chromosomes. That can’t be changed. The phenotype can be changed with plastic surgeries, but never the genotype. I argued everything I said with a scientific basis because science is true data. “I never said that I don’t respect them, but rather that I don’t support trans people being able to compete in a contest for biological women (XX),” she expressed.

“Just because of my opinion justified by biology am I transphobic? “I explained everything with data,” said Villanella Fujimori in another comment.

On the other hand, Kyara Villanella took the opportunity to clarify that she cares little or nothing about the opinion of her detractors, who have questioned her performance in the Miss Teen Universe preliminary. “I just don’t pay attention to them. If they don’t have anything nice to say, I don’t even know why they comment,” she said.

Kyara Villanella aspires to promote environmental conservation and the elimination of plastic from beaches if she wins the Miss Teen Universe. The youngest, who plans to study Environmental Law, plans to use this platform to give voice to fundamental ecological issues.
